F1 Bahrain GP: Horner jibes Alonso... and Brown bites back!

Alonso will be replaced at the Monaco Grand Prix by 2009 world champion Jenson Button, the team confirmed on Friday morning.

The decision has generally met a positive reaction in the F1 paddock, although drivers such as Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton have said they would not opt to miss a grand prix so they could do another race.

Button, who had regarded the concluding race of the 2016 campaign in Abu Dhabi as the last of his 17-season career, will be one of McLaren's two drivers at Monaco, with Belgium's Stoffel Vandoorne in their other vehicle.

The Spaniard has a month and a half to prepare for the IndyCar race, and has to do so inbetween his Formula 1 committments.

But Horner has questioned McLaren's decision with Alonso having no previous experience of IndyCar, saying: "It's a hard one for Fernando, he's having a tough time".

Allegations against Susan Rice should be a high priority for Congress
Trump told reporters the attack "crossed a lot of lines" for him but did not give any clues about a possible US response. Erin Pelton, a spokeswoman for Rice, said , "I'm not going to dignify the president's ludicrous charge with a comment".

"Zak's got the problem of a depressed driver on his hands, he's trying to keep him motivated and he's come up with this idea to send him to Indianapolis". No testing, he's just going to jump in the auto. Turn 1 is a proper Turn as well, it is not easy flat all the way around. "But I don't like to see him at the back of the grid anyway".

Button will be the most experienced driver in the race as he makes his 306th start, with the Briton third in the all-time lists behind the retired Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher. I believe if a driver commits to a team, it's a bit like disappearing with another girlfriend halfway through the year and then coming back.it doesn't seem the right thing to be doing. He is studying Indianapolis, it's obviously going to be a challenge but he wants a challenge.

Button has not driven the new McLaren and will, somewhat surprisingly, swerve the opportunity to get his first taste of track action at next week's two-day test here in Bahrain.

Jenson Button will deputise for the 35-year-old in Monte Carlo after signing a contract as a replacement driver with Mclaren last year.

Button, who's still under contract with the team, hasn't raced since the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. I think he'll put on a good show. And that's what you need to be around Indianapolis. "Going through the differences on the technicality to drive this vehicle, we agreed the track layout here or even doing any running in practice in Barcelona will not be very useful". "Everybody is going to be watching".
