Fox News' Guilfoyle up for White House press secretary job

Kimberly Guilfoyle of Fox News's "The Five" confirmed on Monday evening that she has spoken with the Trump administration about the possibility of replacing White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. "I think it'd be a fascinating job".

Infowars reported on Thursday that Guilfoyle, part of the ensemble cast of The Five, is being considered as a replacement for Spicer, who was conspicuously absent from the White House briefing room on the two days after President Donald Trump fired James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director.

In tweets last week, Trump appeared to express unhappiness with how his communications team handled the uproar he created with his decision to fire FBI Director James B. Comey.

Guilfoyle's name was reportedly raised by Trump himself in recent meetings, according to reports by The New York Times.

"I think it really struck a chord with people, realizing, 'gee, that could be me up there, ' " she said.

Guilfoyle is even talking about Spicer as if he is already gone: "Sean Spicer is a very nice man and a patriot".

Guilfoyle has served as a cohost on The Five on Fox News Channel since 2011. She joined Fox News as a legal analyst in 2006. She added that her son goes to the same school as one of Mr. Trump's granddaughters. On her relationship with Trump, Guilfoyle states, "I think I have a very good relationship with the president".

Media sources covered the news as, "Fox News" Kimberly Guilfoyle has been making a push for the White House press secretary role.

Her theory of why she'd be better in the job is that she's known Trump for years whereas Spicer hasn't, and "If you want to be successful and do communications with President Trump, you have to be someone who he actually wants to spend a little bit of time with".

Newsom's campaign spokesman declined to comment. On the Monday, May 15, "Morning Joe" show, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski said Conway told them she secretly disliked working for Trump and was only "doing it for the money".

If she was offered and took the job, Guilfoyle could expect a huge pay cut, and she'd have to uproot her life from NY to Washington. "They were all swearing they didn't share it more than a few times", she said. She says that after fielding a veritable tsunami of requests for the picture she chose to upload it to Dropbox.com, where interest was so great that it temporarily crashed the Internet sharing site.

"He did something here that was bold, that was decisive", she said on Fox's Lou Dobbs Tonight.

"As I stated in the interview, I really love what I do and my job co-hosting The Five is tough to beat", the statement read.
