'He Preyed on My Vulnerabilities': Bill Cosby Accuser Speaks Out

Bill Cosby walks from the Montgomery County Courthouse during his sexual assault trial in Norristown Pa. Wednesday

If the trial ends in a hung jury, the district attorney could choose to retry the case, but prosecutors would not likely move for an immediate retrial, according to a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

A defence motion for a mistrial due to a deadlocked jury was dismissed and the jury ordered back to the deliberation room they have called home for four days.

They'll resume deliberations Friday morning in suburban Philadelphia.

Jurors weighing Bill Cosby's sex assault trial were urged to keep trying to reach a unanimous decision yesterday after saying they were deadlocked.

As the jurors quit for the night Wednesday, O'Neill praised their diligence as they weigh charges that could put Cosby in prison for the rest of his life. A court officer, however, stated that the records did not reflect the maximum time taken for deliberations by a jury as far as criminal cases are concerned. Wyatt said he believed a chat with the couple and their 14-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter would brighten Cosby's spirits. Such scrutiny remained largely absent from the sexual assault trial of CBC Radio broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi, where the focus veered toward the complainants' behaviour after the alleged assaults, of which Ghomeshi was acquitted previous year.

"Anything can happen because it's a new set of jurors", Levenson said. Cosby was once an A-list celebrity who starred in T.V. Shows, made movies and was a top rated comic.

The trial comes after repeated efforts by Cosby's lawyers to have the charges thrown out.

Andrea Constand tweeted the video Thursday.

There was no message included with the video, which was soundtracked with the Harlem Globetrotters theme, and no explanation for why there was a basketball hoop in the courthouse. It ended with a phrase scrolling down the screen reading: "ALWAYS FOLLOW THROUGH".

While Constand initially filed a civil lawsuit against Cosby in 2005, with 12 other "Jane Does" who also claimed to be sexually assaulted by the actor (allegations he roundly denies), the prosecutor ultimately chose not to pursue a criminal case and the suit was settled in 2006.

It was at Temple she met Cosby, a member of the school's board of trustees.

Cosby, 79, was inside the courthouse waiting for the jury verdict on charges of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, then a college administrator, in 2004. He says it was consensual.

"This is an incredible jury that has just acted with incredible dignity and fidelity", O'Neill said.

Cosby protesters and supporters faced off in angry scenes outside the courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

The jury said Thursday it's deadlocked on charges that Cosby drugged and violated a woman at his home in 2004. But the atmosphere remains calm, with accusers and supporters even holding hands.

As the rhythmic drumming continued, Victoria Valentino, a former Playboy bunny from the 1960s who says Cosby assaulted her decades ago, danced to the music on the courthouse steps. He remains free on $US1 million bail.

After thirty hours of deliberations and investigating, the jurors at the sexual assault trial said today, on Thursday, they are deadlocked and can not come to a consensus on the case.

Montgomery County does not keep statistics on length of jury deliberation, the court says.
