Senate Opens Probe Into Lynch's Efforts to Influence FBI's Clinton Email Investigation

Judiciary committee asks Lynch to disclose Clinton email conversations

A Senate panel is now investigating whether former Attorney General Loretta Lynch interfered in the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe of Hillary Clinton's private email server, according to a letter sent to Lynch on Friday.

The letter cited an April New York Times article about a batch of hacked files obtained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including one reportedly authored by a Democratic operative who voiced confidence Lynch would keep the Clinton probe from going too far.

Grassley, R-Iowa; ranking Democratic Sen.

The Chairman and ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee have sent letters to four individuals, including former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, seeking information about her handling of the Clinton email investigation.

Meanwhile, French driver Romain Grosjean was slowest and ranted constantly about brake trouble in his Haas vehicle . When it got underway, track temperatures were at a blistering 54 degrees C (129 degrees F).

The request for information from Lynch and the others is the judiciary committee's newest element of its investigation into political interference at the FBI, one that may also probe whether President Donald Trump committed obstruction of justice in his firing of former FBI Director Jim Comey. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., penned letters to Lynch and others seeking documentation and other details.

If Lynch didn't know already, social media told her that she has some splaining to do. So even if the email was bogus there are some related questions the committee might want to ask about Lynch putting her fingers on the scales.

The committee also sent letters to Leonard Benardo and Gail Scovell of the Open Society Foundations, a George Soros group, and Clinton campaign staffer Amanda Renteria. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who served at the time as DNC chair, was allegedly hacked by Russian Federation, though the Federal Bureau of Investigation later discounted its reliability. "Lynch would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far". The former attorney general later apologized for the "Innocuous" meeting, saying it was something she came to regret. But Comey reportedly began discussing plans to announce the end of the Clinton email investigation rather than referring it to the Justice Department (DOJ) for a prosecutorial decision, an action that violated protocol and was later cited as the main reason for his removal as FBI director.
