Cowboys' Lucky Whitehead reunited with puppy that was held for ransom

Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead house broken into dog held for ransom

Lucky Whitehead revealed that his gorgeous American XL Bully pup Blitz had been stolen from his Texas home while he was out of town last week. While he was away, a close friend was watching his house and his XL Bully puppy, Blitz. They also took Blitz. Whitehead says he was then contacted by phone by someone who had the dog and was demanding ransom money.

"I strongly advise you to stop and return my boy safely before it gets any worse!" he said in the post, addressing the person who's responsible.

It sparked an internet-wide manhunt as people tried to work out who took Whitehead's beloved dog, whom he's featured on his Instagram account before. At 5:32 in the morning, another video was posted, this time showing the dog being returned to Whitehead.

Whitehead said the dognappers initially asked for $10,000 for the return of his dog Blitz, and it's unclear how he got the dog back. "It hurts because I don't know how he's being treated".

In an interview with KXAS-TV in Dallas (h/t ESPN.com), Whitehead said he received a call from an unknown number demanding $10,000 for the return of Blitz. While the Cowboys receiver took to Snapchat to share the news, Boogotti shared the video on Instagram with a caption that was half-apologetic half-plugging his new mixtape (WARNING: Caption contains NSFW language).

The kidnapping of an National Football League player's dog might just offer up another worry for celebrities when it comes to what they post on social media. He said the caller said he would call back "but I haven't heard from him since".
