Feinstein: Trump 'Can Be a Good President'

Feinstein Reflects on President Trump's Response to Harvey

She is also the top Democrat on the judiciary committee, which is investigating the Trump campaign's alleged collusion with Russians during the 2016 presidential race.

Unlike some of her California congressional colleagues - who have called for Trump to be removed from office and even questioned his mental sanity - Feinstein threw cold water on attempts to impeach Trump or otherwise kick him out of the White House before his term is up in January 2021. By the end of the "conversation", as it was billed, Feinstein "shocked" the 850 in attendance by telling them to prepare for Trump to see out the rest of his term, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

During a Q&A session at the Commonwealth Club, Feinstein was asked whether she believed that Republicans in Congress "will definitively turn against President Trump" by criticizing him publicly and urging him to resign from office.

"I've been strongly critical of President Trump when I disagree on policy and with his behavior", Feinstein said in the statement, pointing to comments she made opposing his pardon of former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the president's comments after the hate march earlier this month in Charlottesville, Va.

For many progressive Democrats, Feinstein's comments about Trump were another example of why the former San Francisco mayor is too moderate to represent California.

N Korean leader's third child born
Only one of the women is believed to have been his legal wife, though these figures are unconfirmed and have been contested. In fact, Kim and Ri's marriage wasn't even confirmed until 2012, at which point they'd been married for roughly three years.

The report said, "the crowd reacted with stunned silence, broken only with scattered "No's" and a few hisses and some nervous laughter". "There are things that can be done", if he does not succeed, she added.

While Feinstein was welcomed with a standing ovation by the 800-some attendees - and got strong applause throughout the night as she talked about immigration, global warming and gun control - her failure to offer a blunt denunciation of Trump riled the crowd.

Feinstein had some harsh words for Trump during her Tuesday speech.

If he isn't able to change, Feinstein conceded, "there are things that could happen that I cannot speak about here".

"I understand how you feel". "But if your goal is to resolve something, calling people names doesn't accomplish anything".
