Japan, Britain agree to enhance economic cooperation

Theresa May leaves Downing Street in London Britain

In its latest ballistic missile launch, North Korea halved the range to around 2,700 kilometers, South Korea's defense ministry said Thursday. Another stamp shows the rocket standing in between the Asian and the American continent, and the other is an illustration of the rocket soaring through the clouds, "with the boom of victory in the showdown with the US", as the state-controlled KCNA news agency described it.

U.S. heavy bombers and stealth jet fighters took part in a joint live-fire drill in South Korea on Thursday, intended as a show of force against the North after its latest missile launch.

"As we leave the EU, we will work to quickly establish a new economic partnership between the United Kingdom and Japan based on the terms of the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement", May will say according to advanced extracts of her speech.

"There's a possibility of strategic provocations, including additional ballistic missile launches and a sixth nuclear test", the ministry said.

He was referring to Mr Trump's remarks earlier this month in which he said he would respond with "fire and fury" if North Korea persisted in threatening his country.

The missile was launched from the Sunan airfield in Pyongyang on Tuesday morning towards Japan and entered the air space over Hokkaido, said the Japanese government.

"A series of strong economic data reminded traders and investors that the (Federal Reserve) is on course to shrink its balance sheet and lift rates again", said Markus Allenspach, an analyst at Julius Baer.
