Ryanair cancels 40-50 flights daily for the next 6 weeks

RyanAir is Canceling Hundreds of Flights Right Now

Despite being hounded on Twitter, it doesn't look like Ryanair is planning to release a forward list of cancelled flights, so if you're concerned you might be affected it might just be a case of playing the waiting game, unfortunately.

In the first two weeks of September, punctuality has fallen below 80%, which Ryanair blamed on a number of factors, including air traffic control delays and strikes and weather disruptions.

Flights to and from other airports in France will be affected throughout the period of the cancellations.

The airline is now moving to allocate annual leave during a nine month transition period (April-December 2017) to move the airline's holiday year (currently April-March) to a calendar year (January-December) from January 2018 onwards.

The compensation starts at €250 for flights up to 1,500km, €400 for longer European Union flights and €600 for flights outside the European Union longer than 3,500km.

The airline said it had sent an email to anyone who was booked on a flight up to and including September 20 which had been cancelled, but it has not said when people who were booked to travel after that date would be notified.

Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast this morning, Donal explained: "In terms of this overall scheduling issue with Ryanair, they're shifting to a new roster - so the year for them starts in January instead of April".

Budget airline, Ryanair cancelled 82 flights on Sunday and admitted that they had "messed up" pilot's holidays.

Passengers are entitled to a refund and compensation if they are due to arrive more than three to four hours after the original time and are given less than two weeks notice, according to EC Regulation 261.

Today, a Gatwick flight to Dublin is cancelled, along with Stansted flights to Budapest, Tallinn, Prague, Warsaw Modlin, Anocona, Oslo, Luxembourg, Glasgow, Barcelona and Edinburgh.

The next round of cancellations will be announced on Monday, Sept. 18, a representative from Ryanair told Fortune.

"We apologize to all affected customers of these cancelations", Ryanair wrote on Facebook.

"We have botched up in the arranging of pilot occasions and we're striving to settle that", Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair's head showcasing officer, said in an announcement Saturday.

The full list of cancelled flights so far can be viewed here.
