Gmail rolls out a new feature to save users' time

Gmail users often exchange information like addresses and phone numbers with each other to set up meetings, introduce colleagues, and plan events.

Google on Monday announced that its email service will now convert phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses in messages to interactive hyperlinks.

It really sounds weird, but Google's native Gmail app didn't have options to open phone numbers addresses via tapping on them.

Google says that the update is rolling out to all of its apps this week, and that everyone should see the feature in Gmail and Inbox by Gmail within the next three days. This will save users time from having to copy and paste the address. Selecting a phone number, meanwhile, will dial a call in Hangouts or your default phone app if you're on mobile. Clicking on it will open that address in Google Maps. Or if the user taps on the phone number, it will directly open the default phone dialler app and proceed to make the call.

Pep Guardiola pleased with Manchester City goalfest
Defender John Stones grabbed the headlines with two goals at De Kuip while Aguero and Jesus also got on the scoresheet. But the Argentine has always shown he has the stomach for the fight and that has been evident in recent weeks.

Smart Reply already drives 12 percent of mobile replies on Inbox, Google's other email app. If a user clicks on a link that Google thinks is risky, it will show a web page saying "The site you are trying to open has been identified as a forgery created to trick you into disclosing financial, personal or other sensitive information".

Both Android and iOS offer the number linking feature at the operating system level, but other functions, such as linking contacts and addresses, is new to Gmail, notes The Verge.

And don't worry if you are not seeing this feature right now on you gmail as Google has said it will take 2-3 days for the complete roll out to happen.
