The NFL hasn't banned Janet Jackson from Super Bowl LII over 'Nipplegate'

It will be the third time that Timberlake, who has won 10 Grammy Awards, headlines a Super Bowl halftime show, the most of any individual entertainer.

If Justin Timberlake wants Janet Jackson in his halftime show, he can have Janet Jackson. because there is NO official ban barring her from performing at Super Bowl 52, TMZ Sports has learned.

Timberlake, a 10-time Grammy victor as well as an Emmy-winning actor and producer, had been in talks to be the headlining act of the halftime show, one of the premier entertainment events in US sports. That year, the crossover artist's perofrmance with Janet Jackson on the song "Rock Your Body" was a cultural and political watershed moment after he pulled off her nipple guard and briefly exposed her right breast. Corporate sponsors of the show were unhappy with the incident, and the Federal Communications Commission received over half a million complaints about Jackson's indecent exposure that lasted just 9/16ths of a second. Jackson suffered criticism about it for years.

It is immediately unclear whether anyone will join Timberlake on the halftime stage.

As for what he hoped to achieve with his halftime show, Timberlake said it would be a success if it "feels like it unifies".

Neither Timberlake's tweet nor the National Football League press release refer to iconic and beloved Jackson, who was subsequently barred from appearing on the 2004 Grammy Awards.

Jackson remains banned from singing at the Super Bowl, and several people on Twitter were angered by the choice of Timberlake.

I DO have the time.
