Actress Files Lawsuit Against Harvey Weinstein's Company For Covering Up His Behaviour

She claims that Weinstein, however, persisted and performed oral sex on her and then masturbated in front of her.

- So far at least 40 women have come forward to accuse movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct over a period of decades.

Huett met Weinstein to discuss business at a Beverly Hills hotel and was invited to his room under the guise of continuing the meeting, according to the complaint.

It wasn't the first time Weinstein had acted inappropriately toward her, she said.

She noted that, if Weinstein weren't such a prominent figure, it wouldn't have resulted in as much of a groundswell: "If it was some independent filmmaker that no one really knew much about, it would be in Variety and then gone the next day".

Herman said Huett is not alleging Weinstein raped her because she could have walked out.

She said she finally managed to shut him down by sniping to him, "I'm not going to Paris with you, I hear you have a bad reputation with women".

Weinstein has not commented on Haleyi's accusations at this time. "I would not have wanted anyone to do that to me, even if that person had been a romantic partner".

After a New Yorker article included multiple allegations of rape, Weinstein's spokesperson told CNN: "Any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein".

"I said I'm on my period, there's no way this is going to happen, please stop". She worked as a production assistant on a Weinstein Co. -produced television series, though she and Allred declined to name the show.

Huett's New York-based lawyer, Jeff Herman, who specializes in sexual-abuse cases, told USA TODAY he and Huett aim to put the "Hollywood casting couch" culture on trial through the lawsuit.

On Tuesday, another woman came forward, alleging that Weinstein sexually assaulted her in 2006.

The letter also calls out those who witness sexual harassment and do nothing, dismissing it as "locker room talk" and encouraging other women to "smile and shrug it off" because that's what's needed to get ahead. I was mortified. I was in disbelief and disgusted.

Haleyi claims Weinstein later came to her NY apartment and pleaded with her to come on a romantic-sounding trip to Paris.

"I think that now that these conversations have begun, there's no way that we can go back to what the status quo has been for women in my industry", she added.

On Thursday, Actress Ashley Judd, whose story led off the explosive October 5 New York Times story, will give her first interview since the scandal broke.

"Her allegation appears to be beyond the statute of limitations", Allred said of Haleyi.
