Microsoft is reportedly working on a Foldable Tablet

We say concept because the device never actually became a reality.

Microsoft designers have been mulling the possibilities of these kinds of devices for several years, as evidenced by the company's "envisioning" videos from earlier this decade. However, it is suspected that it could be a pen-based foldable PC with phone capabilities, which is in line with Microsoft CEO's statement previous year, saying that, while the company is not done with the mobile phone market, its next mobile device will not look like the smartphones of today.

The company also reports that the device Notepad from Microsoft, now has the code name Andromeda, will run on ARM chipset to support windows 10.

What President Trump's Public Health Emergency Declaration Means for the Opioid Crisis
The Medical Care Journal estimated past year the economic cost of opioid overdoses, dependence and abuse was almost $79 billion.

The reports adds that despite being called a foldable tablet, the device, when folded, will be able to fit inside your pocket like a smartphone. This new "foldable" tablet could be Surface-branded, something like Surface Note or Surface Journal. I'm not sure I can go back to a device where a pen is the primary input method, no matter how portable it is - and regardless of all the studies showing handwriting notes helps people remember them far better than typing. The Tablet would come with pre-installed apps such as Notebook that will mimics like a real notebook and with a pen, you can write down various things. That doesn't mean the device will be limited to nate-taking. Of course, since it's Windows it also has a Start screen and menu and the ability to run apps like Edge or Photos. The report didn't mention as to when this new device will hit the market. The company has already called it quits regarding its Windows 10 Mobile division, and it looks like the company is trying to create a brand new market for itself instead.

Microsoft has been building out its hardware division with its Surface line of computers for some time. Samsung too is working on a similar hardware that folds like a pocketable book and opens up as a 7-inch tablet. What we do know is that the Redmond giant is planning a 2018 launch of the device. There is no information regarding the size or internal specifications of the device.
