Philadelphia 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz out indefinitely because of right shoulder

Markelle Fultz injury update 76ers rookie out indefinitely with shoulder injury

Fultz is out indefinitely because of soreness and scapular muscle imbalance in his right shoulder, the Sixers said Sunday. After Brothers told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday that Fultz received a cortisone shot on October 5, the Sixers announced they would be holding Fultz out for the team's next three games. I kept wondering how they knew three games would heal a shoulder when they weren't completely sure what the problem was. "Fultz will be reevaluated by Dr. Kibler in approximately three weeks". This is potentially really bad for The Process.

According to the Sixers, there's no structural damage to Fultz's shoulder, and he visited "several shoulder specialists".

PHILADELPHIA - The 76ers find themselves involved in another injury controversy with a first...

Add to that, the visible issue with Fultz's shot.

His shot didn't look the same as it did during the summer or at the University of Washington last season. The injury is unique in the sense there is no clear cause, a specific fall or collision on the court.

Hopefully, Fultz can return back to his best, but he should take as much rest as he needs. Finally, Ben Simmons missed the whole of his rookie season due to a Jones fracture. That includes losing four of their first five games, but the 76ers did beat the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday (Oct. 28) to get another notch in the win column.
