Trump's Twitter Account Deactivated

Donald Trump's Twitter account temporarily vanished

The most reliable way to prevent someone at Twitter commandeering Trump's account would be to have two staff always next to each other, monitoring each other, he said.

A single person who works for Twitter - and not even someone who works in and around their government arm - was able to take down the Twitter account of the President of the United States?

There was praise on the network for the employee, and the president himself made light of the outage, tweeting on Friday: "My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee".

After an initial message saying an investigation was taking place, Twitter confirmed - via a tweet, naturally - that it was an employee who was working out their last day.

President Trump's Twitter account was briefly shut down by a rogue employee on his last day with the company.

The Twitterverse was Trump-free for several minutes, and the internet exploded with various kinds of reactions to what happened. The account was restored by 7:03 p.m.

Twitter has come under fire from some critics who say the company should banish Trump for violating its terms of service. "We are conducting a full internal review", Twitter said in a tweet late on Thursday.

But quite a few Twitter users admitted they would never forget the "minutes of peace" they had while Trump was offline. The page mostly contains retweets of Trump's posts from @realDonaldTrump. Twitter's rules let the company suspend accounts for violent threats, gender-based attacks and other forms of abuse and harassment. Suspensions aren't uncommon on the site. "Bought and paid for by Crooked H.", Trump's tweet read.

The White House later denied this was a declaration of war, but such tweets have been seen by some unsafe in the context of North Korea's increasing nuclear capabilities.
