Everyone's congratulating the Twitter employee who deleted Donald Trump's account

Twitter Inc faced questions on Friday about its approach to internal security after a company employee briefly deactivated U.S. President Donald Trump's account. The news of the deactivation of the outspoken, tweet-prone president delighted many on Twitter, with some even suggesting that the unnamed employee should be given knighthood or nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The incident has sparked concern about how the social media site handles its affairs and who it tasks with key responsibilities.

In response to Twitter's statement about its investigation, one user said: "I am assuming you're investigating who should get a million dollar bonus?" People trying to follow the "Real Donald Trump" account saw the page said his account did not exist.

Attempted account accused the employee of customer service, who retires from his position.

Two hours later, Twitter acknowledged the shut-down wasn't an accident.

"My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee", Trump said on Twitter early on Friday.

Unilever Looks to Move Beyond Black Tea With Tazo Buy
Separately, the coffee-shop giant missed revenue and same-store sales forecasts for the quarter, sending shares lower after hours. Through the agreement, Unilever has agreed to buy the Tazo brand, its recipes, intellectual property and inventory for $348mn.

After the account was restored Trump did not tweet about the vanishing act, but made several posts on other topics.

"We are making it clear that context - including if the behavior is targeted, if a report has been filed and by whom, and if the Tweet itself is newsworthy and in the legitimate public interest - is crucial when evaluating abusive behavior and determining appropriate enforcement actions", Twitter said in a statement. The newspaper added: Twitter customer support cannot, however, access customers' private direct messages, nor can they tweet on behalf of other users.

A spokesman for the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Another person familiar with Twitter operations, speaking on condition of anonymity, said employees now can not post from a user's account, change or even view a user's password, which is encrypted. Trump did not react to the temporary account removal until almost 12 hours later.
