Starcraft II's Wings of Liberty Campaign will be available in its entirety for free alongside the complete unranked & AI multiplayer suites Blizzard announced today during their Blizzcon keynote.

Blizzard also announced a new co-op commander for the game, Han and Horner. With it, you'll be able to access ranked multiplayer, and play with the now available Co-op Commanders, including Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis.

Those looking to continue the StarCraft II story will be able to purchase Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void, and Nova Covert Ops, individually or together as part of a Campaign Collection in the Blizzard Shop.

Meanwhile, "the Zerg (a primitive, but ruthless insect-like army) are now on the run as Terran (human) forces pick off their dwindling numbers-but little do the Terrans know that the Zerg are merely playing possum", we wrote of the game's storyline. Blizzard now feels that the time is right to make the game free-to-play.

Mobile US, Sprint Working To Salvage Merger
But with the new Trump administration, it was thought regulators might be more relaxed about a merger. "We won't stop now". The telecomm giants said that they have stopped negotiating and will remain independent entities.

"The mission was adapted from a player-created map that won the recent Rock the Cabinet contest, where players submitted their own ideas for a Co-op Mission", Blizzard said after the opening ceremony. Existing players should log in between November 8th and December 8th to claim the free content.

In addition, everyone will get access to the game's ranked ladder, as well as all the latest units and balance updates through the latest release in the series, Legacy of the Void. According to Morhaime, players can participate in the full multiplayer ladder and in co-op game modes. Anybody out there still holding out on StarCraft II?

For those of use that already own StarCraft II or any version, we'll be getting a special Eidolon Ghost skin and three portraits commemorating our founder's status.

You can also purchase any of the campaigns or a seasonal War Chest to gain immediate access to ranked play if you desire.
