Wizards' Wall questionable for Sunday's game in Toronto

Bradley Beal John Wall

Wall, who has started all eight games while averaging 20.5 points and 10.4 assists per game, received treatment Saturday on his sore and sprained shoulder but is considered "questionable" to play ahead of the Washington Wizards' Sunday night matchup against the Toronto Raptors, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. They didn't want to see us in the second round. "It was something that we worked on since that last game (a 122-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns) and we came out here and knew that they were a team that was struggling and they came out and played well".

"I thought we did some good things", Lue told reporters. The Celtics had the conference's best record, though it eventually did them little good, as Boston lost to Cleveland in four games. The over went 2-1.

The Raptors played Friday without C.J. Miles, who had flu symptoms, so he might return Sunday to lead the second unit as he has done so well this season. "It wasn't like we were just out there [trying to lose]".

More likely, though, the Cavs just didn't care about the regular season. During an ESPN interview earlier on Friday, Wall and Beal reiterated a belief that Cleveland purposefully slid out of the top seed in the playoffs last season to avoid facing Washington in the early rounds. I'm not going to sit here and do that.

However, Beal is confident the Wizards can become the team to beat in the east this season. "For me, what I'm trying to do to help this team, we've got seven new guys and I'm trying to get these guys focused, get myself focused, get our team focused on what it takes for us to win every night".

Wall finished with 13 points, 15 assists and six rebounds on Friday night. I believe in us, and I'm confident in us, and we're going to compete with the best of them. "It's going to give us a boost".

Cavaliers Tyronn Lue said sarcastically: "No comment, because I don't want to get in trouble". With Wall injuring his shoulder towards the end of the third quarter, the Wizards needed all that they could get from their star forward and he didn't produce.

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue offered a sarcastic response to the comments following the Cavs' win: "They're right: They are the best team in the East". "We're a targeted team now".
