Woman fired for posting photo of her giving Trump the finger

Juli Briskman’s middle-finger salute of Trump’s motorcade in Sterling Va. went viral

Briskman decided when she went into work on Monday that she would tell her employer, government contractor Akima LLC, about the photo, but by Tuesday, she had been informed that she violated the company's social media policy because she used the image on her Twitter and Facebook pages as her profile picture. Late-night talk show hosts told jokes about the encounter and people on social media began hailing the unidentified woman as a "she-ro", using the hashtag #Her2020. The image is now being used as both her profile and cover picture on Twitter, but on Facebook, she's just featuring it as her cover photo.

"So they were calling flipping him off 'obscene, '" Birskman told the Huffington Post.

Juli Briskman, 50, now an ex-member of the marketing team at the government contractor Akima LLC, was on her bicycle on October 28 when Trump's motorcade drove by her on a northern Virginia road.

However, Briskman isn't convinced, especially given the fact that she wasn't wearing anything or doing anything that could have connected her back to the firm.

Akima's social media policy warns that posts containing "discriminatory, obscene, malicious or threatening content" can lead to employees being fired, according to The Washington Post. Briskman said she does not regret her actions.

"He was passing by and my blood just started to boil", she said to the Huffington Post, adding "I flipped off the motorcade a number of times".

"They said, "We're separating from you, '" Briskman told the Post".

According to Briskman, the choice to give the middle-finger salute wasn't just random.

Since Virginia is an employment-at-will state, Akima has full discretion over who it fires. "I'm angry about where our country is right now".

Her employer wasn't too happy about the photo, and they fired her.

Briskman, acknowledging that her moment of fame gave her "an opportunity... to say something", is now planning to work at an advocacy group "that she believes in".

Her behavior will probably be rewarded by a company whose owner is a Democrat. She says she'd do what she did again. Like it or not, whatever you do on social media directly reflects on your employer.

On why she decided to make the gesture, Ms Briskman said: "He was passing by and my blood just started to boil".
