Ezekiel Elliott's Suspension Is Back On Again

Ezekiel Elliott’s attorneys wanted to settle case NFL not interested

A three-judge panel in the Second District U.S. Court of Appeals denied his motion for a preliminary injunction to block a six-game suspension from the National Football League for allegedly committed domestic violence against former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson.

If the suspension extends beyond this Sunday, (as there is still more legal action pending in the courts) the second-year back would miss three pivotal divisional contests that are scheduled for the next six games.

Elliott and the NFLPA next can appeal to the full appeals court and then to the U.S. Supreme Court, if they choose. Elliott is seeking an expedited appeal, according to reports, but it's unlikely any further ruling will come down before Dallas plays at the Falcons on Sunday.

The Elliott suspension has been weaving through the courts since he was ordered in August to serve the ban for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

An NFL Players Association source told ESPN.com that Elliott will not play "while we argue".

Elliott has been embroiled in a legal saga with the National Football League after being issued a six-game suspension following a 13-month investigation into a domestic violence allegation in 2016. It wasn't immediately clear how soon the court would rule on Elliott's claim that he was treated unfairly by the NFL. Now Elliott seeks a longer-lasting injunction from a three-judge panel that will hear his case Thursday in NY.
