TTV Dinakaran: Centre can't harm us by conducting IT raids

Chennai: Income Tax sleuths today carried out simultaneous multi-city raids on 187 premises including those linked to sidelined AIADMK leaders V K Sasikala and her nephew T T V Dhinakaran and Tamil television channel Jaya TV over suspected tax evasion.

Dhinakaran, who emerged out from his home, said his house was not raided by the Income Tax but some of his properties including a farm house in Puducherry were raided by Income Tax department due to political vendetta by the present government. "My simple question is why target the family?" asked Prasanna, spokesperson of the Sasikala-Dhinakaran faction of AIADMK.

"It is very obvious that this is an attempt by the Centre to intimidate us", said advocate Kasimanabharathi, who represents various organisations belonging to the Sasikala family.

Jaya TV advocate Kasinathabharathi too charged that Centre with using Income Tax department to shake the party as they weren't able to make a dent politically. I-T officials said the raids were in connection to allegations of tax evasion.

The OnePlus 5T WILL NOT Feature Wireless Charging
Lau said that they actually considered using wireless charging technology for the OnePlus 5T , but simply chose not to. Another given reason was that users won't be able to work on the device while it is kept on wireless charging pads.

On the rationale behind the searches, the official said it was launched after identification of "clusters of shell companies, cash deposits in banks after demonetisation and reliable information of acquisition of benami properties and Financial Intelligence Unit's inputs". It is now being controlled by jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala's family members, led by her nephew Vivek Jayaraman.

The official said that nearly all premises belonging to associates of Divakaran were raided in Mannargudi. Correspondingly, Namadhu MGR is also under the effective control of Sasikala and her community. News agency PTI reports that the searches follow allegations of shell companies, dubious investments, fund flow and fudging of accounts by Jaya TV, started by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and now controlled by the family of Sasikala, who was her closest aide.

The operations of the media house has been controlled by the members of the Sasikala family for many years now. Security personnel arrived in large numbers early at Jaya TV office at Ekkaduthangal and stood guard at the entrance. Thursday's raids are likely to weaken the Sasikala camp.
