Selena Gomez Breaks Down While Being Honored At Billboard Women In Music

Selena Gomez pays emotional tribute to Francia Raisa for life-saving transplant

Gomez, who was spotted again with the Biebs on the heels of her breakup with the "Starboy" crooner, explained her reunion with Bieber this way: "I cherish people who have really impacted my life".

"I worked really hard on my music this year and I'm really excited to put it all together", she said.

Ahead of the awards show on the red carpet, Raisa was asked about being a kidney donor to her friend and she answered: "What's scary is knowing she was two weeks away from kidney failure and I didn't find out until after the surgery". Selena said she doesn't think "anybody truly, actually cares".

The "Bad Liar" singer said that she's altered and edited herself her whole life for the sake of others.

"My family is great".

She added: "I think one of the experiences I've had myself, I've experienced a lot with my health, and being able to talk about that confidently".

"I don't have flawless abs, but I feel like I'm wonderfully made", she said. "Going through that makes me look at life a little bit differently, and I am grateful for that". "Seeing all these women come up here tonight and say these lovely speeches with their awards is so inspiring", she told the crowd, then paying tribute to those who have helped her get to that point.

Selena Gomez received top honours Thursday at the annual Billboard Women in Music event, but the singer felt the recognition may have been misplaced.

It's been an emotional year for Selena Gomez. Honestly, I couldn't be more grateful for the position that I've been given in my career, from seven to 14 to now. I want people to know that I respect the platform that I have so deeply.

Selena's title has previously been picked up by Taylor Swift, as well as fellow musicians including, Beyonce, Pink and Fergie.
