Ole Miss reduced its scholarships by one in 2015, two in 2016, six in 2017 and four in 2018.

Freeze, who was sacked in July for issues not related to the NCAA investigation, has received a show-cause penalty, though the length is unknown.

The university's athletic leaders appeared in front of the NCAA committee on infractions in Covington, Kentucky, on September 11-12. The NCAA noted that former head coach Hugh Freeze "acknowledged that upon coming to MS, he was surprised by the "craziness" of boosters trying to insert themselves into his program".

According to Nola.com, Patterson's release would have restrictions to every SEC school and any Ole Miss regular season opponent the next two years.

"We are deeply disappointed and angered by the additional penalty of the 2018 post season ban, it is simply not warranted", Athletic Director Ross Bjork.

Three years of probation from December 1, 2017, to November 30, 2020.

Patterson started the first seven games of the season for the Rebels, passing for 2,259 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

An 8-year show-cause order for the operations coordinator.

A 5-year show-cause order for the assistant coach who facilitated standardized test fraud and living arrangements.

Almost every coach named in the Notice of Allegations received a show-cause as well. He must not participate in any recruiting activities during this time.

Scholarship reductions through 2018-19, as detailed in the public report (self-imposed by the university).

LSU tried to recruit Patterson while he played high school football at Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport before he transferred to IMG Academy in Florida and ultimately decided on Ole Miss.

Ole Miss said it would appeal the NCAA's ruling, specifically siting the 2018 bowl ban as an excessive penalty.
