Yum's Beer Delivery Sinks Domino's and Papa John's Stock

Pizza Hut Is Now Delivering Beer With Pizzas

Pizza, beer and even a glass of wine to fill your satisfaction. Pizza Hut announced today that it will start delivering BOOZE to customers in addition to pizza, so now you truly have no reason to leave your house. ever. Therefore, the next logical step was to offer adult beverage delivery, according to statements from Pizza Hut's Director of Brand Marketing, Stacy Lynn Bourgeois.

Pizza Hut's beer delivery menu in Phoenix includes six-packs of Budweiser, Bud Light, Shock Top and Kilt Lifter, a local brew.

Currently, Pizza Hut is testing the delivery service Phoenix, Arizona.

Pizza Hut will start delivering wine in January, McWilliams said, and it is weighing whether to deliver single servings, full bottles or both.

Pizza Hut reported flat USA same-store sales in the latest quarter, when Domino's Pizza's domestic units reported a rise of 8.4 percent.

Shares of Yum, which also owns KFC and Taco Bell, were little changed after the announcement. Since then, the company also made plans to hire 14,000 more delivery drivers by the end of the year. The beer and wine will be delivered in a custom cooler to ensure those six packs are ready to drink.

Rival Papa John's worldwide sells beer and wine at a handful of locations in the western United States and at locations in Latin America, China and Russian Federation.

A spokeswoman told Fortune that 1,700 out of Pizza Hut's 6,300 USA locations already have liquor licenses.

Drivers with beer and wine deliveries on their routes will need to be at least 21 years old, the company said, and customers will need to show their IDs at the door.
