Padmavati Should Lose A Letter To Get U/A

Padmavati to release as 'Padmavat' CBFC nods for U A certification based on some vital changes

As per reports, the board and the special panel appointed to review the film and decide on its certification suggested 27 cuts and three disclaimers in the film along with a change in the title.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial period drama Padmavati has been mired in controversies ever since the film's shoot started. "Considering complexities and concerns around the film the requirement for a special panel was felt by CBFC to add perspective to the final decision", ANI quoted the board as saying.

The censor boards suggestion to Sanjay Leela Bhansali to change the title of his film "Padmavati" to "Padmavat" has led to a flurry of reactions on Twitter with many users poking fun at the latest development.

The other key modifications suggested in the meeting include those of the disclaimers, pertinently adding one regarding not glorifying the practice of Sati and also relevant modifications in the song "Ghoomar" to befit the character portrayed.

Some fringe groups had accused the makers of tainting the image of their revered queen Padmavati on whom the film is supposedly based. The special panel consisted of Arvind Singh from Udaipur, Dr Chandramani Singh and professor K.K. Singh of Jaipur University.

The decision was taken after an examining committee meeting was held on December 28 in the presence of Joshi, along with a special panel comprising Arvind Singh from Udaipur, historian Chandramani Singh and Professor K.K. Singh of Jaipur University.

Vanity Fair Apologises For Video Suggesting Hillary Clinton Takes Up Knitting
For the president, the uproar provided an opportunity to take a dig at two of his favorite targets: Clinton and Vanity Fair . Ms Kosoff, the writer who made the knitting suggestion, reportedly took to her private Twitter account to defend the video.

The Bollywood film, which was slated to be released on December 1, was indefinitely postponed by a studio run by a partnership of Viacom and Network 18 owned by Mumbai's Reliance Industries. Furthermore, the filmmaker has been suggested to change the title of the film.

Bhansali Productions, in a written communication to CBFC, had also requested that a panel of historians/academicians and members of the Rajput community view the film.

The year was about to end on a great note after it came to light that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has agreed to provide certification to Padmavati.

The Rajput body's member Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi has said that the film has been cleared "under pressure from the underworld".

He said that he will continue to protest against "Padmavati" in democratic manner.
