"NVIDIA BFGD 65" Monitor 4K, 120Hz, HDR and G-Sync | CES2018

At CES 2018, Nvidia launches Xavier, an effort to meld autonomous driving and AI

Acer also chose to incorporate Google Assistant so that the Predator can double as voice-activated smart home controller. But that was before big format gaming displays - or BFGDs. Talking about gaming experience, the big giants will not permit any high latency which in addition to the tear-free screen merely sounds impressive.

Which Nvidia are calling Big Format Gaming Displays or BFGDs.

The Nvidia BFGD features everything you'd expect from a 2018 gaming monitor including G-Sync, native 120Hz refresh rate, low latency, true HDR, variable frame rate, and 4K resolution.

In terms of HDR compatibility, the new monitor is equipped with full-array backlight LEDs that can output up to 1,000 nits of luminance and manage basic local dimming algorithms. G-Sync support is also included, which is expected given Nvidia's involvement. You can stream via your favorite apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube, and Hulu. In other words, it means this BFGD is also Android TV system. But the built-in Nvidia Shield Android streaming media device does replicate much of that TV functionality. (Or like many ambitious displays announced every year at CES, we may never see it at all.) We won't get a price until closer to then, either.

Nvidia has created this display technology in partnership with its hardware partners - Acer, ASUS, and HP. This includes G-Sync, which, like AMD's FreeSync, aims to eliminate screen tearing.

The first company to provide me with a press release is Acer, with their monitor using the Predator branding found on many of their gaming orientated systems.
