QB Jacob Eason Expected to Transfer to Washington from Georgia

BREAKING: Georgia QB Jacob Eason Is Expected To Transfer To Washington

With Fromm's success, Georgia will apparently lose arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC to the Pac-12. This season, he started game one against Appalachian State before leaving the game with a knee injury. When Jake Fromm arrived, the two became friends as well as competitors and by all accounts, Eason won the starting job out of camp. Reports surfaced earlier in the week that the University of Washington is a likely landing spot for Eason, a Lake Stevens, WA native, but nothing is concrete at this time.

"Thank you UGA for an incredible two years", Eason wrote on Twitter.

Eason, who was 204-for-370 passing for 2,430 yards, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions as Georgia's starter in his freshman season of 2016, was booked to start again this fall until he sprained his left knee in the season opener.

Eason did not address where he would play next in the tweet he sent out Friday afternoon. As Georgia made a run to its first College Football Playoff berth, and a thrilling victory over Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl, Eason said he tried to be a team player.

Eason was a top recruit in the 2016 class, regarded as the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country by 247Sports.

Besides Fromm, Georgia is adding Justin Fields, ranked the nation's No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2018 by ESPN. Fields also just happens to be a quarterback.

Should Eason choose the Huskies, it would give him a year to learn the team's system while providing UW with flexibility.

Eason's recruiting profile started rising during his sophomore year at Lake Stevens. Jake Browning, unless he surprisingly declares for the National Football League draft in the next several days, will finish his career as a senior next season. This season, he completed just 4-of-7 passes for 28 yards.
