Kevin Sumlin goes to the University of Arizona

He was 86-43 in a decade as a head coach at A&M and Houston.

BATON ROUGE, LA - NOVEMBER 25: Head coach Kevin Sumlin of the Texas A&M Aggies walks on the field prior to a game against the LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium on November 25, 2017 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Sumlin had a 51-26 record over six seasons at Texas A&M, but five straight seasons at or below.500 in SEC play ultimately doomed him to fired.

Multiple reports broke early Sunday afternoon the former Texas A&M head coach will take the same position at the University of Arizona.

Feldman also reported Sumlin will retain defensive coordinator Marcel Yates, with Noel Mazzone and Clarence McKinney expected to join the staff as offensive coordinator and running backs coach. Arizona had been linked to Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo, but he elected to remain at Navy.

QB Jacob Eason Expected to Transfer to Washington from Georgia
Should Eason choose the Huskies, it would give him a year to learn the team's system while providing UW with flexibility. Besides Fromm, Georgia is adding Justin Fields, ranked the nation's No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2018 by ESPN.

Arizona fired Rich Rodriguez on January 2 amid allegations that he created a hostile work environment and sexually harassed his former administrative assistant.

NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt was the first to come out with the news Sumlin is headed to Arizona.

Sumlin helped Johnny Manziel win the Heisman Trophy in 2012. Rodriguez said in a statement released through his attorney that the university had investigated claims of harassment by a former administrative assistant, who threatened a $7.5 million lawsuit.

College football insider Brett McMurphy reported Sumlin has agreed to a 5-year contract with Arizona.
