WhatsApp Business app launched, allows businesses to connect with customers

Though businesses must download the new app to communicate to customers, the everyday WhatsApp user can continue using the general version. "Our new app will make it easier for companies to connect with customers, and more convenient for our 1.3 billion users to chat with businesses that matter to them", WhatsApp said in a statement.

Messaging giant Whatsapp has officially launched its new Whatsapp Business App in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the US. The WhatsApp Business app is free, and will be rolled out across the world in the coming weeks, which is when it can be expected in India.

Facebook having 1.3 billion users, is flawless platform for consumers to chat with business they like.

A Business account with a green checkmark badge in its profile has been verified as "an authentic brand" by WhatsApp.

According the company, the app will allow the business owners to setup proper profiles with details about their business, email address, website information, store address and more. Businesses can also send and receive messages from the WhatsApp Business interface on a desktop computer. After testing several business features over the last years, WhatsApp has finally released its app, especially for businesses.

Reliance Jio Now Offers More Data In Its Rs 153 Prepaid Plan
If you recharge your mobile number through wallets like Amazon Pay, MobiKwik, Paytm etc, you will get cashback worth up to Rs 300. The users have to be careful because these small sized packs will only work if SIM is inserted into the Jio Phone.

The reason for a distinct business app is simple. "For example, by making it easier for businesses to respond to customers, separating customer and personal messages, and creating an official presence", said WhatsApp. Also, WhatsApp Business features so-called Messaging Tools, which includes options like quick replies, greeting messages, and away messages. The Play Store link of the app is available in the source below.

They can also message customers, send them updates and answer any questions they have.

WhatsApp Business is a separate application which can be downloaded in addition to the normal messenger application. Users will still be allowed to block businesses and report spam.

We do wonder how exactly this will work here in South Africa where many businesses use a land line and not a mobile phone for their business.

What's new in this version? So, people will know they are talking to a business.
