Don't bite your iPhone battery like this guy; it can explode

In China, a man walked into an electronics store while seeking a new replacement battery for his Apple Inc.

CNET, citing Chinese media, reports that the man walked into the unspecified store on Friday and, for reasons that are unclear, bit into the phone battery.

At first glance, the man seems like just another insane Tide Pod Challenge nut.

Seeing as it exploded that way, no one really knows now whether the battery was really a battery or not - or if the incident did ever occur. Within seconds, the battery, which was only inches away from his and other onlookers' faces, explodes as the group recoils due to the blinding flash of the blast.

If you do not believe in what we say, you can see the iPhone battery going BOOM as he takes a bite of it.

Man suspected of rape and murder of Zainab Ansari arrested in Pakistan
TV channels aired the photo alongside pictures of her lifeless body abandoned on a heap of garbage in her home city of Kasur . The accused wore a beard when he committed the crime, but later shaved off in an attempt to hide his identity.

The incident took place on Friday, January 19, which was caught on the CCTV of the store and was later posted to maiopai.com which has almost five million views.

Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, reported several Taiwanese news outlets. All manufacturers warn against physically tampering with batteries as this could lead to fire and maybe they should warn against biting as well from now onwards. Even before he could realise what happened, it burst into flames! Any lithium-ion battery, official or not, could explode if it's punctured.

Apparently testing the authenticity of electronics with your teeth is a bad idea, according to the experience of a man in an electronics store in China.

A propensity to overheat isn't the only issue with the iPhone's battery, however, after recent news that Apple was taking steps to slow older iPhones down due to the possibility of a crash.

Interestingly, this comes at a time when Apple is under fire for intentionally throttling CPU performance to give precedence to battery life, besides preventing sudden shut downs as well.
