Emotional support peacock denied entry on United flight out of Newark

Creative Ventiko who adopted Dexter in 2014 is a prominent

United announced that they are considering a similar policy, telling Fox News that they are reevaluating their existing policy on emotional support animals.

United Airlines turned away a woman and her big bird, after she tried to bring a service peacock onboard her flight from Newark Liberty International Airport.

According to Fox News, a spokesperson for United Airlines said Ventiko was told three times before arriving that the animal did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, specifically weight and size.

WHAT?! We're discussing emotional support animals on an upcoming episode! Their most recent post, posted earlier today, was taken in Miami, Oklahoma.

The airline also said that it requires passengers to "provide documentation from a medical professional and at least 48 hours advance notice" before bringing an emotional support animal onto a flight. Then another passenger supplied video of the peacock and its owner entering the terminal.

"In order to ensure we provide the best service to everyone onboard our flights, consistent with government rules we now require these customers to provide documentation from a medical professional and at least 48 hours advance notice". Documentation being what it is, some wily passengers figured out they could save money by rebranding the family pet as an emotional support animal that would travel for free on their laps.

A video posted to The Jet Set's Facebook page showed a woman wheeling luggage with the peacock perched on her shoulder at the airport.

Some Twitter users supported the United passenger's attempt to bring the peacock onto her flight, while others were outraged. Also in 2017, Delta employees reported increased acts of aggression, including barking, growling, lunging and biting, from service and support animals - behavior not typically seen in properly trained animals. From a business perspective, it is better to have 99% of the passengers happy with you than face any negative criticism over one passenger who may feel slighted by the decision, even if that decision goes viral.
