First Look at Jamie Lee Curtis on Halloween Reboot Set

So 1978 In September it was announced she would reprise her role in a reboot of the horror movie which will be released nearly 40 years to the day the original film directed by John Carpenter hit theaters

It's common practice for films to already have some footage in the can before production officially begins (a spy photo from a set with Michael Myers walking around surfaced just yesterday).

Curtis shared the first image from the new movie on Twitter, which not only includes her in a costume similar to Laurie's from the original movie-because denim never goes out of style-but director David Gordon Green has an important piece of movie history in his hands. "See you 10/19/18 @halloweenmovie #HalloweenMovie", Curtis tweeted on Tuesday, along with a picture of her back in action as Michael Myers' little sister.

It looks like Halloween is coming early this year!

First shot! First day.

In September it was announced she would reprise her role in a reboot of the horror movie, which will be released almost 40 years to the day the original film directed by John Carpenter hit theaters. "Same slate. Same Laurie", she captioned the pic.

She added, "Happy Halloween 2018 everyone". After getting a new Myers actor with each installment including the original Halloween 2, it's really surreal to get to see the original actor pick up the mask again after forty years. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween, ' she wrote.

Curtis has played the role in a number of sequels throughout the years, including 1981's Halloween II, 1998's Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and the 2002 film Halloween: Resurrection. Carpenter, who did not agree with the Halloween remakes directed by Rob Zombie, stated that he wanted this story to be as "terrifying as the original". 'They get it. I think you're gonna dig it.

Carpenter said he would act as executive producer and 'consult and offer [his] advice and feedback as needed'. Are you looking forward to the new Halloween movie?

Halloween hits theaters on October 19.
