TDP Leaders Meet Rajnath Singh Amid Strain In Ties

Hyderabad/Mumbai: N. Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is bitter that the Union budget had nothing special for Andhra Pradesh, but will stick with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for now.

Addressing a farmers' rally at Paithan in Aurangabad district of central Maharashtra, Mr Thackeray said, "The understanding in the alliance for the last 25 years was that the BJP will lead the country and we will deal with Maharashtra. All this was discussed", Chowdary said. The Prime Minister and the government of India are sensitive about development of Andhra Pradesh. Though several other TDP leaders wanted to counter Somu Veerraju's allegations, they said to have refrained from making comments owing to Naidu's orders. CPI Andhra secretary K Ramakrishna demanded the ruling TDP also to support the bandh call and prove its sincerity in fighting for justice to the state.

An upset TDP pitched its senior leader and union minister Y S Chowdhary to tell the media in no uncertain terms that it was unhappy over no monetary allocation for Andhra Pradesh on many issues such as Polavaram project, funding for the new state capital of Amravati, making Visakhapatnam a zonal railways headquarters and clearance for the Kadappa steel plant project.

"As and when it is required, the chief minister and party chief will take the decision appropriately". He asked them to chalk out plans to get the maximum benefits from the schemes announced by the Centre for all the states.

Pep Guardiola: EPL title race not over
The Algerian hasn't trained since Leicester priced Manchester City out of a move for Mahrez on transfer deadline day on Wednesday. De Bruyne set up Fernandinho for the opener and then scored himself, before Sergio Aguero added a late third at Etihad Stadium.

Nevertheless, in Parliament during the Budget Session, the TDP plans to play a demonstrative role to highlight Andhra Pradesh's demands, nearly like an Opposition party. "You should think only of marriage", Chowdary said, when asked if a "divorce" with the BJP was imminent.

Bharatiya Janata Party's estranged ally Shiv Sena seems to be in no mood to refrain from attacking the Narendra Modi government.

If Naidu can galvanise the support of all these forces, he can bring pressure on Modi, since the BJP will have tough time in the next elections and the BJP definitely needs the support of allies, say analysts.
