Jammu and Kashmir, Rajouri: 4 Soldiers killed in the attack, one injured

Succumbing to injuries

Four Army personnel, including a captain, were killed and four others, including two teenagers, injured in Pakistani shelling along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts yesterday.

Official sources said the Pakistani army opened unprovoked fire on the Army's 15 J&K Light Infantry posts in the Bhimber Gali sector on Sunday.

The Congress on Monday accused the NDA government of compromising on national security and held the Modi dispensation responsible for the deaths of soldiers and civilians in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan has repeatedly condemned ceasefire violations by Indian forces due to which, several civilians lose their lives every day.

Ravendra Raina MLA of ruling party BJP Monday interacting with the reporters said that it's high time for Indian Air force to come forward and bombard Pakistan as they can not understand the language of diplomacy and talks.

Veeri further informed that ceasefire violation was also reported from Sunderbani where one BSF Jawan namely ASI Ajab Singh sustained injuries.

The statement also said that heavy damage was inflicted on a Pakistani post in retaliatory action. And this year the number of violations is high. "Indian forces opened unprovoked firing in Nezapir and Rawalakot sectors, targeting the civil population", the ISPR said.

The killed soldiers included Captain Kapil Kundu, who would have celebrated his 23rd birthday on February 10.

He added that Turkey as chair of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) had taken a "strong moral and ethical position" to send a fact-finding mission to Kashmir.

India and Pakistan often accuse each other of violating a 2003 cease-fire agreement. The Pakistani troops also had resorted to mortar shelling in Nowshera and Keri sectors also the same night.

The line of control is the de facto border dividing Kashmir between India and Pakistan, both of whom claim the disputed principality in its entirety.
