Uma Thurman opens up on Kill Bill crash

Quentin Tarantino defended Roman Polanski’s alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in a rediscovered 2003 interview

Busy Philipps is going after Quentin Tarantino.

In an interview with the director, Tarantino told Deadline that, "It's the biggest regret of my life, getting her to do that stunt". He knew that the article was on its way-and even helped Thurman obtain the footage used in the article-but didn't expect the response to it and put most of the blame on Maureen Dowd, who wrote the article. Thurman wanted an experienced stunt double to operate the vehicle, particularly as there were concerns on the set about the car's safety.

His role in the Dowd piece: Tarantino says he and Thurman had talked extensively about her plans to speak with Dowd, and that the plan was for him to also talk to Dowd and verify Thurman's claims. I didn't go barging into Uma's trailer, screaming at her to get into the vehicle...

The route was eventually changed because the sun was starting to set.

In a lengthy interview with Deadline published Monday, the director broke his silence about the incident that Thurman shared in an interview published over the weekend with the New York Times.

Tarantino told The New York Times in October past year that, with regard to the alleged misconduct of film producer Harvey Weinstein: "I knew enough to do more than I did ..."

"I am guilty, for putting her in that auto, but not the way that people are saying I am guilty of it", Tarantino tells Deadline.

Thurman spoke out again Monday on Instagram, reposting the crash video and acknowledging that Tarantino "was deeply regretful and remains remorseful about this sorry event, and gave me the footage years later so I could expose it and let it see the light of day". "They lied, destroyed evidence, and continue to lie about the permanent harm they caused and then chose to suppress", the actress wrote. "I hope they look after other clients more respectfully if they in fact want to do the job for which they take money with any decency". He said he had driven the road himself and it had seemed totally straight, but that a decision was made for Thurman to drive it in the other direction, and somehow there was a turn that he didn't expect.

Quentin Tarantino defended filmmaker Roman Polanski in a 2003 interview with Howard Stern by saying the 13-year-old girl with whom Polanski had unlawful sex "was down with it".

If it had been his daughter in the same situation, the director said, "there would be a bullet in Polanski's head", but the 13-year-old victim "was down to party with Roman".

The actress, 47, said she received the footage from a "deeply regretful" Tarantino years after the fact so that she could share it as she saw fit. That's not rape. To me, when you use the word rape, you're talking about violent, throwing them down.

Tarantino added: "Throwing the word "rape" around is like throwing the word "racist" around. It just doesn't apply to everything that people use it for". "Hit 40 miles per hour or your hair won't blow the right way and I'll make you do it again". "What really got me about the crash was that it was a cheap shot". She didn't get hurt.

In light of the recent allegations made by Uma Thurman against Harvey Weinstein and her terrifying work experience on "Kill Bill", my name has been mentioned in numerous articles in regards to the choking scene in "Inglourious Basterds".
