Aubameyang nothing like Sanchez, says Wright

Those issues may yet resurface, but for now Wenger is keen to accentuate the positives after the eye-catching elan with which Mkhitaryan, making his first Arsenal start, and Aubameyang, on his debut, stole the show against Everton.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after accusations that he under-performed during his final weeks at Borussia Dortmund.

A debut goal for Aubameyang, a hat-trick for Aaron Ramsey, and three assists for home debutant Mkhitaryan made it all possible for Arsenal in a comfortable 5-1 win over Everton.

But Wright strongly believes supporters should not compare the Aubameyang's abilities to that of former Gunner Sanchez.

"These guys are top quality players".

"You can stay on the edge and not touch it".

Lacazette has led the Arsenal front line for much of the season but has only managed to score nine goals and only once in his last 12 appearances.

Sanchez scored 30 goals for Arsenal last season but began to push for a move away with the Gunners failing to qualify for this season's Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino's side will head into the Premier League game at the Wembley Stadium in London with confidence.

"Your main target is just to get the players to enjoy the game they play, to share it with the fans, so when you have that positive experience it's great for you".
