Delhi Chief Secretary'assault case MHA seeks report from L-G Rajnath Singh says'justice will be done

Reacting to reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has denied any attempt by AAP MLAs at his residence to assault Delhi Chief Secretary.

FIRs about the alleged assault on the chief secretary and the purported attack on AAP leaders have been registered, Delhi Police Spokesperson Deependra Pathak said.

Prakash was allegedly assaulted by a few AAP MLAs at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence last night. In fact, they have accused the chief secretary of using derogatory language against some MLAs and leaving the meeting without answering questions.

In his complaint to the police, Prakash said the attack on him was "premeditated" and a "conspiracy" of all those who were present at a meeting late on Monday night at Kejriwal's residence.

We also stand, very strongly by the chief secretary, Delhi and all our colleagues in the NCT cadre. "Obviously, he is doing it at BJP's behest". It said the BJP was trying to disrupt governance in Delhi through the Lt Governor and officers. "With difficulty I was able to leave the room and get into my official vehicle and leave chief minister's residence", he said. "There was a meeting of MLAs at CM residence", said an official statement by the AAP.

In a tweet, Mr Rajnath Singh said he was "pained by the happenings" and that civil servants should be allowed to work with dignity and without fear.

He was referring to the chaos which unfolded inside the secretariat today as Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain was mobbed by over a hundred officials and staff following the allegations.

"Delhi Police arrested elected MLA without any evidence". Legislators Prakash Jarwal and Ajay Dutt lodged a complaint with the SC/ST Commission alleging that casteist comments were made against them by the chief secretary.

"All the three associations have made a decision to boycott meetings called by all Delhi ministers in protest against the attack on the chief secretary by MLAs at the CM's residence", said divisional commissioner Manisha Saxena, who is the general secretary of the IAS officers' association. The delegation apprised Singh on the prevailing situation of bureaucracy in Delhi administration.
