Apple Could Be Planning To Make The Biggest iPhone Yet

Apple's Short Interest Rises 7 Million Shares, but Does It Matter?

Apple has been struggling with the iPhone X since it launched, with sales targets dropping and even its mighty stock price taking a hit.

There were rumours of a phone that would have nestled comfortably between this 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus and the 5.8-inch iPhone X, but according to Bloomberg's report a refresh of the iPhone X, as it now looks, will be the second-biggest of the three phones. Over the weekend, however, an alleged photo of a 6.5-inch iPhone display leaked online (that would be the alleged iPhone X Plus).

The new iPhone may even sport dual SIM card ports so owners could use their phones overseas without having to change cards to connect to different cellular carriers. Like the iPhone X, it'll use OLED screen technology and offer Face ID.

Citing "people familiar with the products" who spoke anonymously, the publication claimed Apple is already running production tests with suppliers involving all three new iPhones.

The largest model would include an OLED display of almost 6.5-inches and have a screen resolution of 1242 x 2688, code named D33.

Analyst Daniel Ives told The Sun that Apple may also be looking to target more customers in Asia, and particularly in China, where larger phones are just as popular as their regular-sized counterparts.

MacRumors saved the images and said the screen may be used for an upcoming model, called the iPhone X Plus.

People familiar with the matter said the company is now engaged in production tests with iPhone suppliers, and the new models will reach the market this fall. Still, Apple may ultimately decide not to proceed with the color.

Apple is known for keeping their iPhones close ended without any micro SD card support or dual SIM. This model will also off an edge-to-edge screen and Face ID, and not include Touch ID. Speaking SIM, eSIM technology is also another possibility but it might not go through due to some carriers not supporting the idea.

Apple is also expected to release an LCD iPhone with slim bezels, aluminum edges, and a glass back.

Apple has tried selling cheaper phones in the past with poor results.

The moves come at an interesting time for Apple.
