McMaster To Leave White House As Soon As Next Month

President Donald Trump right shakes hands with Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster left at Trump's Mar-a Lago estate in Palm Beach Fla. Monday Feb. 20 2017 where he announced that Mc Master will be the new national security adviser

"But I hope he stays, he's really good".

According to NBC News, five sources confirm the decision is being orchestrated by chief of staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary James Mattis. Stephen Biegun, who had served as a staff member under Condoleezza Rice under the George W. Bush administration is being considered as the top choice for the next security advisor.

Compounding the report, CNN's Jim Sciutto said that McMaster has been discussing a potential position with the Stanford Hoover Institution.

President Donald Trump strongly denied reports Thursday suggesting his national security advisor is on the way out.

However, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Wednesday Hicks' departure was not related to her testimony.

McMaster replaced former national security adviser Michael Flynn amid controversy surrounding his meeting with a Russian diplomat.

McMaster has a history of clashing with president Trump on major policy matters, including the strategy for Iran and Afghanistan.

"We frequently face rumor and innuendo about senior administration officials". There are no personnel announcements at this time'.

The two have never gotten along, and Trump continues to chafe at McMaster's demeanor when he briefs him, feeling that he is gruff and condescending, according to a source who is familiar with his thinking. Flynn resigned after only 24 days in office after revelations that he lied to Vice President Pence about his dealings with Russian officials.

Mr. Trump is on board with the so-called Cornyn-Murphy plan that aims to improve the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, also known as the "Fix NICS" bill. Trump forced out Michael Flynn after revelations that he misled administration officials about his contacts with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. He later pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about those interactions.
