A man accused of stealing Frances McDormand's Oscar from her table at the Governors Ball following Sunday's Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a felony charge of grand theft.

The lawyer was flanked by Bryant's rabbi, Naomi Levy, who described him as a "sweet, gentle man of faith". The 60-year-old actress was so delighted of her reunion with the coveted golden boy that she celebrated her joy with a double cheeseburger.

In the brief time that he had the Oscar, Bryant posted a Facebook Live video, holding the trophy up and claiming, "Got this tonight!"

Best-actress victor Frances McDormand's Oscar night took a dark turn after someone stole her golden statue.

The lawyer said that Bryant's behaviour was "out of character for anyone", but would not comment on his mental state.

The video captured Bryant leaving the ball holding the Oscar and saying: "We got it". When he was confronted, Bryant handed back the statuette without a fight, police said.

Bryant's Instagram account shows him holding trophies from several big awards shows while posing as a victor.
