After the House of Delegates refused to accept a state Senate resolution calling for a special session on the budget, Senate Majority Leader Tommy Norment was feeling, he told his colleagues, a bit irritated.

The House version of the budget contains millions of dollars in funding that would come from expanding Medicaid, but the Senate version does not.

The bill pays for the five percent raise for state workers by eliminating planned increases from the departments of Commerce and Tourism, and Medicaid.

The special session would start from a new budget bill that would go through normal committee hearings.

Allegiant to begin nonstop service to Nashville in June
With the addition of this new Orlando route, Allegiant will now serve four cities from Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Dates, times and prices for flights through August 2018 are now available on the airline's website.

The House spent hours considering several amendments to the bill that was passed by the Senate.

Legislators needed to have all budget work done Tuesday in order to vote on it by Friday.

The General Assembly is already scheduled to reconvene April 18 for what is usually a one-day session to handle amendments offered by the governor and any bills he may have vetoed. "The Granite Advantage Health Care Program is a New Hampshire plan that protects taxpayers and the General Fund, saves the federal taxpayers approximately $200 million, provides 50,000 Granite Staters with healthcare, and stabilizes our individual market". Opponents argued it was a handout to the power monopoly.
