AIADMK MPs stage protest outside the Parliament-PTI

TDP and YSR Congress MPs continued their protests on the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh.

On Friday, Lok Sabha continued to witness ruckus as MPs, including BJP ally TDP members kept raising their respective demands.

While Congress members led the charge against the Rs 12,700 crore fraud at Punjab National Bank, members of Tamil Nadu parties - AIADMK and DMK - were demanding constitution of the Cauvery Water Management Board for distribution of Cauvery river water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Members from the TRS were demanding an increase in quota.

Ms Mahajan extended her wishes to all members of Lok Sabhaon International Women's Day.

Opposition parties as well as AIADMK members resumed their protests in Rajaya Sabha today on various issues soon after the lawmakers spoke on the occasion of the International Women Day.

The logjam in Lok Sabha continued for the fifth consecutive day on Friday amid continuing. "This is sad", he said before adjourning the proceedings till the afternoon.

Before the House saw its first adjournment, Mr Naidu announced the nomination of JD (U) member Kahkashan Parveen on the panel of presiding officers to conduct the proceedings of the House, making her the first woman to be included in the panel in the recent times. P. J. Kurien adjourned the House till tomorrow.

"Lets write a new chapter with confidence, self respect and the spirit of nationalism", she said.

Naidu also agreed to a suggestion by some members to have a woman member in the panel for Vice Chairman panel.

"Parliament is for discussion - I will give permission to raise issues only as per the rules", she said.

Kumar said the Congress never expected that the government will accept their notice so fast.

Mahajan, who spoke on the issue as the Lok Sabha met for the day, emphasised on the need to work together for all round development of women for positive change. There was no official bill listed in the business for the day.
