Bengals and Bills swap picks

Report Bengals plan to spend only $15M in free agency

The Bills owned two first-round picks prior to the trade, the 21st and 22nd overall selections, which many draft analysts assumed they'd deal in an effort to move up for a quarterback.

The Buffalo Bills have pulled off another trade, sending offensive tackle Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cardinals are 15th in the first round, so a quarterback-needy team once again moves ahead of them. Dion Dawkins, a rookie second-round pick, started the 11 games Glenn didn't.

The Bills also have the No. 22 pick, acquired previous year from the Chiefs when Kansas City traded up to select Patrick Mahomes. It limits the team's options in free agency, but shores up the team's biggest issue.

The Bills have been at the center of high-profile trades for the past several months now going back to last season when they dealt Sammy Watkins. Right tackle Jake Fisher, the team's 2015 second-round pick, ended his 2017 season early due to a heart condition but will be ready to play next season. Three of them saw him garner a top-20 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

Meanwhile, the Bills are set at left tackle.

Since the trade of veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns last week, it has made it clear that the Buffalo Bills are in the market for a quarterback. Perhaps they'll stay put and utilize this selection on a quarterback.

Trade agreements can not be made official until Wednesday. What the Bengals hoped would be a replacement for tackle Andrew Whitworth who was let walk in free agency turnout out to be a bust.

The 28-year-old Glenn was once looked at as one of the best offensive linemen in the league.
