Stormy Daniels lawyer: She will be proven 'absolutely credible'

Stormy Daniels’s lawyer said the move was “yet another bullying tactic” against her

Clifford and Trump allegedly had an affair in 2006, which is the focus of the nondisclosure agreement, according to her lawsuit against Trump.

Speaking on MSNBC's "AM Joy", Michael Avenatti said that Daniels' upcoming "60 Minutes" interview will lend credibility to allegations that have been brushed aside by the White House. Trump has denied it.

The actress has sought to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement under which she was paid $130,000 not to give details of her encounters with Trump.

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who represents Daniels, said on Friday, "This is simply more of the same bullying tactics from the president and Mr Cohen".

The company moved a lawsuit, filed by Ms Clifford two weeks ago in California state court against Mr Trump, to federal court, saying that neither Ms Clifford, Mr Trump nor the LLC are California residents and the amount of damages exceeds the US$75,000 limit for a case to proceed in state court.

In a tweet Clifford's attorney says quote "they are now attempting to remove this case to federal court in order to increase their chances that the matter will be decided in private arbitration, thus hiding the truth from the public".

"The fact that a sitting president is pursuing over $20m in bogus "damages" against a private citizen, who is only trying to tell the public what really happened, is truly remarkable. We are not going away and we will not be intimidated by these threats".

As seen in the below CNN video from The Lead with Jake Tapper, Avenatti spoke about additional women who have reportedly contacted the attorney with stories similar to Stormy's story, with the women alleging that they, too, have been ordered to be silent about their experiences.

Mr Cohen admitted he had paid Ms Daniels $US130,000 ($166,000) of his own money, using a home equity account, as part of the deal just before the 2016 election.

In the lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles, Mr Avenatti claims Mr Trump never signed the non-disclosure agreement that his lawyer made with Ms Clifford, claiming that would make it null and void, and making public the agreement and related documents.

But, she said, "obviously we take the safety and security of any person seriously" and "certainly would condemn anyone threatening any individual".

Trump claimed in court papers filed Friday that Daniels repeatedly violated the non-disclosure agreement, and is seeking $20 million in damages. And the White House has refused to say how involved Trump had even been in the initial agreement with Clifford, signed in October 2016.
