Saturday Night Takeaway: Ant McPartlin's replacement revealed as Dec confirms return?

Ant McPartlin's Friends Claim Drink Drive Crash Was Due To Stress Of Divorce

ITV had already said this Saturday's show, hosted by McPartlin and Donnelly as the TV duo Ant and Dec, would not be aired.

Now friends of Ant claim that his arrest on Sunday for drink driving may have been caused by the breakdown of his marriage.

ITV, meanwhile, has said it will be "reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment".

"He's spoken with Dec and ITV and asked for time off for the foreseeable future. As such, Saturday Night Takeaway will not be going ahead this Saturday".

"But in the meantime it looks as though co-stars Stephen Mulhern and Scarlett Moffatt will battle it out to be the main presenter alongside Dec, with Stephen the slight favourite".

TV3 has confirmed that Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway will be replaced by an episode of The Voice UK this weekend.

Referring to the winners who are flown out to Florida for the final episode of the series, he added: "We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that".

Dec has released a heartfelt twitter message revealing that the close-knit pair felt "that they owed it to the fans to complete the series".

Declan Donnelly will host Saturday Night Takeaway alone when the show returns on March 31 following his partner Ant McPartlin's return to rehab, ITV has confirmed.

After a two-month stint to address his demons, Ant managed to go on to host last year's series of I'm A Celebrity.

Ant first checked himself into rehab previous year after battling a prescription drug and alcohol addiction.

Download it today and continue to enjoy STV News wherever you are. He's devastated for his mate but he's also anxious about the Ant & Dec brand, it's the biggest in the country on television.

From Byker Grove to I'm A Celeb and Britain's Got Talent, see Ant's best bits through the years.

The star has had a hard year after spending two months in a rehabilitation facility for an addiction to prescription painkillers last summer, following a botched knee operation. They've got big teams of people working for them on these shows, their livelihoods are affected as well, I think that would be the right thing to do.
