Patriots Meet With Johnny Manziel At Texas A&M Pro Day

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is hoping to resurrect his NFL career

Could New England be a realistic landing spot for Johnny Manziel?

Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer are now the only quarterbacks on the Patriots' roster. The Patriots also attended Manziel's throwing session last week at the University of San Diego Pro Day.

Johnny Manziel says he would back up New England's Tom Brady in a heartbeat.

Johnny Manziel could return to the National Football League after reportedly meeting with the New England Patriots. But the Patriots received a closer look at the Heisman Trophy victor, with the Boston Herald's Karen Guregian reporting that Manziel spoke with New England before and after the session.

Manziel was released by the Cleveland Browns, who took him in the first round of the 2014 draft, in March 2016 after numerous off-field issues and a suspension under the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Rumored as one of the organization's who's been interested in the former Heisman Trophy victor, Bill Belichick's football dynasty is back at it as according to Kevin Guregian of the Boston Herald, the Pats met with free agent Johnny Manziel both before and after his work at Texas A&M's Pro Day on Tuesday.

In two years in the NFL, Manziel started eight games and went 2-6, compiling 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Scouts reportedly came away impressed with Manziel following Texas A&M's pro day, with NFL.com's Gil Brandt tweeting, "Hearing really good reports from my scouts on the ground on how Johnny Manziel's workout went today at Texas A&M's pro day".

Manziel, 25, threw to Texas A&M receivers and running backs as they prepare for the NFL Draft. "One said he even looked better than he did in 2014". "I don't want to make the same mistake twice".
