There had been some speculation as to whether Smith will appeal the sanction that prevents him from playing global or domestic cricket for a period of 12 months - the same David Warner - and precludes him from holding any leadership position in the national set-up for a further 12 months.
Cricket Australia levelled a 12-month ban from worldwide and domestic cricket on Smith, with a ban on being considered for leadership positions extended for a further 12 months beyond that.
Following Smith's announcement, Bancroft also wrote on Twitter he would accept his ban.
The trio conspired to use sand paper to alter the condition of the ball during the third test at Newlands, with Bancroft then trying to hide the sandpaper down his trousers.
The CA's code of conduct says all three players could take until the day before the possible April 11 hearings to advise whether they will challenge the charges. "But I meant what I said about taking full responsibility as Captain of the team", Smith tweeted. I wont be challenging the sanctions. "Thank you to all those who have sent messages of support", Bancroft tweeted.
The Australian bowling coach, David Saker in the press conference said that the team is not thinking of what's happening back at home but is struggling to come to terms with the players they've lost in the process.
The ACA's Greg Dyer spoke at a media conference on Tuesday and expressed his displeasure with how the players were put "before the world's media last Saturday night without the benefit of considered and coherent advice". He has already accepted the sanctions and claims it will send a "strong message". "I think Australia cried with Steve Smith last Thursday, I certainly did", said Dyer.
The reprimand was handed down by Cricket Australia in the wake of the ball tampering scandal.
He urged a relaxation of the bans to allow the men to return to domestic action sooner, saying of the dozen or so previous cases the ACA had studied, the most severe punishment was a ban for two ODIs.
Smith has been suspended for 12 months from all global and domestic cricket for his part in the scandal.
The storm hit the Australian cricket when Bancroft was caught on cameras rubbing the ball with a sandpaper during the third day's play of the third Test in Cape Town.
