Loud explosions were heard in the night sky above Riyadh on Wednesday night as state-run television said Iranian-backed Houthi rebels targeted the capital with a ballistic missile from Yemen.
Wednesday's missiles followed the downing of two Houthi drones earlier in the day in Jizan and the nearby Saudi city of Abha, the coalition said.
Yemeni forces regularly target positions inside Saudi Arabia in retaliatory attacks against the Riyadh-led military operation.
Yemeni media reported that the army's remote control drones carried out a strike on the Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia's southwestern Asir region on Wednesday.
A week ago, Saudi air defense forces said they shot down a missile fired by the Houthis at the Aramco refinery in Jizan.
An Israeli military construction vehicle next to the security fence in northern Gaza was the target of an attempted.
Aramco was not immediately available to comment on the missiles.
Two separate airstrikes hit a reinforcement convoy and another Houthi-controlled position in al-Bayda, the ministry said on its official website.
Almost 10,000 people have since been killed in the conflict, in what the United Nations has called the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
The United Nations says 10,000 people have died in the three-year-old war, and three out of four Yemenis - 22 million civilians - need relief aid. Saudi Arabia has accused Iran of funding and arming the rebel movement, a charge Iran has denied.
According to weapons monitor Conflict Armament Research (CAR), quoted by Reuters, CAR has evidence that the Qasif-1 drone used in today's strike was made in Iran, "in contrast to Houthi statements".
