Sixers Lose To Heat As Joel Embiid Expresses Frustration

Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers 4/16/18, Prediction & Odds

Wade was brilliant in Game 2 with 28 points off the bench, and his string of timely plays as the Miami Heat were in the midst of a fourth-quarter collapse resulted in a 113-103 victory and a 1-1 series heading to Miami.

"F*****g sick and exhausted of being babied", the Cameroonian wrote in an Instagram story. The coach said earlier Monday that Embiid had not yet been cleared to take contact during workouts. Brown largely brushed the issue aside, saying Embiid simpyl wants to play. Despite those restrictions and his late-season injury, Embiid played in 63 games after logging just 31 total over his first three seasons since being drafted third overall in 2014.

"I saw moments, that's what defines Dwyane Wade", Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said after the game.

With 7 minutes, 26 seconds left to play, Wade drove straight into the paint with only Dario Saric standing in his way, but Saric stood his ground, raised his hands straight up and Wade missed the layup after having to battle through Saric's body.

They continued to chip away, with Ersan Ilyasova's tip cutting the game to 98-96 with 4:29 left, but after the Heat missed a basket, a turnover by Saric led to a Dwayne Wade dunk, and the Sixers would never get closer again.

He finished with 24 points, nine assists and eight rebounds while shooting 10 of 17 from the field.

Game Three is on Friday.

Dwyane Wade snuffed out one 76ers' rally by popping a 16-foot fadeaway with the shot clock ticking down.

Embiid will have a few days to continue his recovery, as Game 3 will be played Thursday at American Airlines Arena in Miami. With the Heat ramping up their pressure defense and the Sixers bricking so many 3s, the absence of Embiid to help the offense produce more efficiently in the halfcourt was notable.

Miami's strategy was at its best in the second quarter when it outscored the Sixers 34-13.

"I think Dwyane's steal changed the game", Brown said.

"That's kind of who we are", Brown said.

Embiid has been sidelined since March 28 after suffering a broken orbital bone and concussion in a collision with teammate Markelle Fultz. And when he's not able to do that, he gets frustrated.

In a flash, Wade stripped a ball and scored on a dunk, found a wide open James Johnson for another slam and fed Goran Dragic for an open jumpshot. "It's born out of competitiveness and it's born out of him wanting to be with his team", he said.
