The man suspected of killing four people at a Waffle House in Nashville on Sunday was previously arrested by the US Secret Service for trespassing and being in a restricted area near the White House, authorities said.

A gunman opened fire at about 4:25 a.m. ET in Antioch, part of the Nashville area on April 22, 2018.

Police identified Travis Reinking, 29, of Morton, Illinois who was believed to live near the restaurant, as a suspect in the carnage.

Reinking's alleged motive is unknown and authorities warn that he may still be armed with a rifle and a hand gun.

The suspect fled the scene naked after throwing off a green jacket, which contained two magazines loaded with ammunition, police said.

Police later returned the seized weapons to Reinking's father, Jeffrey Reinking, and told him to keep the weapons secure and away from his son.

Police said late Sunday morning that authorities are preparing arrest warrants on murder for Reinking, who is feared to be armed.

Police spokesman Don Aaron says efforts to locate 29-year-old suspect Travis Reinking are continuing.

According to an incident report filed by authorities, they responded to a CVS parking lot in Morton, Illinois because Judith and Jeff Reinking, Travis's parents, and his grandmother Marilyn Hopper stated that they were anxious about him.

The shooting ended when a patron, James Shaw Jr., was able to wrestle the weapon away from the gunman, who then fled on foot.

Shaw told reporters he first thought the gunshots fired around 3.25am were plates falling from a dishwashing station.

Of the gun, he added: "I grabbed it from him and threw it over the countertop and I just took him with me out the entrance". He was seen walking, naked, on a road, officials said, but later was seen in trousers after apparently returning to his apartment.

DeEbony Groves, 21 of Gallatin, Tennessee, was fatally wounded in the restaurant, police said. One shooting victim died at the hospital. Two other people were in critical condition at a hospital. Reinking appeared to be serious and concerned when filing the August 2017 report, the officer said.

"At the time he was reloading.is when I ran through the swivel door", Shaw said. He was believed to be wearing only trousers and no shirt or shoes.

Almost eight months later, Reinking is now under investigation for allegedly opening fire at a 24-hour restaurant on Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch, killing four and injuring several more. In addition to the four people killed, four others were injured.

"Like you, I am shocked and devastated by how such senseless violence has taken the life of this young woman, an individual full of vast potential", said Belmont President Dr. Robert Fisher. That would require taking him to court and having his rights taken away because of illness, a sometimes lengthy and hard process, Anderson said. "When I finally got the gun he was cussing like I was in the wrong", he said.

Shortly before the pool incident, Reinking had allegedly went to J&J Crane Co, where he had a shouting match with an employee while wearing the same pink woman's coat.

Stephen Paddock also used the same rifle to kill at least 59 people attending a concert from his hotel window in Las Vegas in October 2017.
