White House Counsel Don McGhan expected to leave Trump administration

President Trump to

The questions, some 49 in all, were published by The New York Times, which said they were compiled by Trump's lawyers during negotiations with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigators over a possible interview with the president himself.

Trump has repeatedly said he wanted to talk to Mueller, a fellow Republican investigating alleged Russian meddling in the United States 2016 election and possible collusion by the Trump campaign.

A separate source familiar with the Trump legal team discussions told CNN the President's lawyers and Mueller are "making a final push" toward a decision on an interview with the special counsel's office.

"I would love to speak", he insisted. I would love to. I would love to speak.nobody wants to speak more than me.I would love to speak because we?ve done nothing wrong.? he said responding to a shouter question from reporters. "But I have to find that we're going to be treated fairly".

Veteran defense attorney Emmet Flood will join Trump's legal team, but even some of the president's allies questioned why the highly respected GOP lawyer would join a chaotic and ruthless White House inner circle. He also said he'd even disregard his own legal team's advice if he was convinced that he'd be treated fairly during the interview.

Mueller is helming a wide-ranging probe into unproven allegations that the president's campaign colluded with Russians to impact the result of the 2016 election.

Trump also brushed off revelations by his newly recruited attorney, former NY mayor Rudy Giuliani, that he was aware of and approved reimbursements to his personal lawyer Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Cobb's departure was not unexpected given that he had largely wrapped up his duties of providing documents to Mueller and shepherding aides through voluntary interviews with the special counsel's team.

'The problem we have is, we have 13 people and they're all Democrats - real Democrats. "Certainly not", Trump said when asked if troop reductions were on the table. "Right now, it is a pure witch hunt", Trump added.

"At some point in the future I would like to save the money", he said.

Mueller is a Republican and was appointed by one other Republican, Deputy Legal professional Basic Rod Rosenstein, to guide the investigation.

Giuliani has done numerous television interviews in recent days, including with ABC News, and has stood behind his comments.

The admission that Trump repaid Cohen "removes the campaign finance violation", Giuliani told the Times, but campaign finance experts disagreed.

The source said while numerous President's supporters love to see Giuliani fighting for Trump, the former New York City mayor obviously did not have his facts straight.

Giuliani in a TV interview on Thursday wondered what would have happened if Daniels' claim of an affair had come up in a debate between Trump and his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, adding, "Cohen made it go away".
